The best thing about my Nexus 7 is that it is so comfortable to hold with one hand. So in a search for a case I was really concerned about using something bulky all of the time. This case is "friction fit" at the corners, so you can pop your Nexus 7 in and out at will. So I can still take it out when I'm using my Nexus 7, but still also have a great case to take it places in & to protect it. This case also has the built in viewing stand, when you want to prop it to watch a video. And even the latch uses "friction fit" to grab on to the side, holding your Nexus 7 firmly in place. And this case is designed for the "Open to wake & close to shut down" technology built into the Nexus 7. The Google case is a snap-on plastic affair with no latch or clasp of any kind to hold the cover shut, has no magnet to activate the Nexus 7's built-in wake/sleep sensor, covers the power and volume switches with fairly stiff plastic buttons, and is stiff to fold back to expose the screen for use.The I-Blason case grips the corners of the Nexus-7 securely while leaving the controls out and free, latches shut, and folds back easily or opens to a two-position prop for hands-free viewing. It also looks great, fine leather construction that gives a very professional look while protecting the Nexus-7. Bottom line- My Google cover is on the way back. It is exactly what I want in a case, very light, very thin, very minimal. I was worried about how the Nexus 7 would sit in the case when I ordered it but I worried for nothing. This case has a perfect fit. Definitely made with care specifically for the n7. Cover stays closed, and the Nexus 7 fits snug and secure. The material reminds me of the feel of a baseball mitt. There is a dotted cutout for the speaker in back, there is not one for the microphone on the side (though I don't think this is important at all since you would not be using that with the cover closed anyway). Sleep/wake function with the magnet works perfectly. You can flip the cover all the way around and it will not turn off the screen like I have heard happens with some other cases. One thing to consider, the lip on the cover that keeps it closed around the Nexus 7 sticks out when you flip the cover around (obviously), but it is something to think about when you order...
