Looks and Plays Just Like the Best-Selling Game

The Mission May'Ham Building Set includes three pigs and two birds and lets you construct a slingshot launcher and a building to house the pigs. Once constructed, it's just like the game: load a bird into the launcher and take out the pigs. After you knock down the pigs and their building, you can create another building for the next turn.

When our testers put the game together, they were impressed with how much it looked like the best-selling video game. The game even includes a package of stickers with small details such as "TNT" that are to be placed onto the wooden blocks.

K'NEX Angry Birds Mission May'Ham
Includes Red Bird, White Bird, Moustache Pig, Small Minion Pig, and Medium Minion Pig.

Includes Pieces to Construct One Level

The Mission May'Ham is provides pieces to construct one level. Children can also create their own structures using their imagination.

The included instructions provide an illustrated step-by-step guide to assembling both the launcher and the building. Our testers found that, like other construction toys, there is an initial learning curve for identifying the small pieces and putting everything together.

Use Expansion Packs and Imagination to Create Additional Levels

Despite the limits of having just one building set, our testers were able to further expand their levels by using household items such as boxes, toys, and shoes to launch the Angry Birds into a new and unknown world. For more variety, K'NEX offers a number of different building sets (sold separately), all of which can be used to together to create more and larger levels.

Our entire family (mom, dad, three young kids) are Angry Birds fans, so I thought we could have a lot of fun with this game. The kids already play a kind of "live action" Angry Birds using the plush toys. Well, we should have stuck with that. This game is rather shoddily made, so it's hard to get it to work right and stay together in the first place. There aren't very many game pieces, so there's a very limited amount that you can do with them. And the price is kind of outrageous. (I received mine free as a sample in exchange for my honest review.) I wish they would go back to the drawing board and try again with this one, the concept is excellent.

3.0 out of 5 stars Fun Lego-Type Toy But Pricey and Difficult to Squeeze the Sling Shot to Launch Birds, September 8, 2012
Amazon Verified Purchase( What's this?)
This review is from: Angry Birds Mission Mayham (Toy)
I was thrilled to find a Lego-type Angry Birds toy for my 6 year old son. He LOVES it, but needed help putting it all together. The TNT boxes and Pigs slip off easily (if you follow the recommended design). However, if you improvise, and attach the boxes and pigs to the "pegs" then it works better. Also, my son's fingers are not strong enough to squeeze the sling shot to launch the birds, so this toy may be intended for kids who are a little stronger or have more dexterity in their fingers. For the number of pieces included, it is a bit pricey, but otherwise, it's a very cool toy.

2.0 out of 5 stars Many of the pieces don't fit well together, October 5, 2012

This is my first K'NEX set in a long, long time. My kids were looking forward to receiving it, even though none of us has played Angry Birds much. Out of the box, the set proved challenging even for my son who's very good at building LEGO sets. Many of the pieces either don't fit or fit way too loosely.

The other thing is, there is just very little play value in this set. My kids have reconfigured it several ways, rather creatively, but by the 2nd day they'd lost much interest. Because the pieces of the set fit loosely, a lightest touch makes the whole thing fall apart -- yep, even worse than your typical LEGO set! So we spend most of our play time cleaning up rather than building or playing.

The launcher, in particular, is very poorly made. It's almost impossible for a child of any age to use. I'm very disappointed in the low quality aspect of this product.
